The Art of Catching the Perfect Lobster
Branded content I 2019
A short documentary filmed during the lobster seasonal premiere on Sweden’s west coast in Fiskebäckskil. Rather than focusing on the restaurant behind the project, the film tells the story of the fishermen, the tradition and the raw beauty of life at sea.
One investment. Six years of ROI.
And still counting…
DIRECTORS NOTE
From the very beginning, the ambition was for this film to drive business for the restaurang Brygghuset in an non-traditional way. The mission was to make this feel less like branded content and more like an authentic short documentary. The client understood something many brands still miss — that the real story was not the restaurant itself, but the people, the craftsmanship and the atmosphere surrounding the lobster season on the Swedish west coast.
We filmed during the actual lobster premiere in Fiskebäckskil, combining a cinematic visual approach with a largely documentary-style production. Much of the filming happened in unpredictable conditions, out at sea before sunrise, trying to capture real moments rather than staged scenes.
The goal was to create a film that felt atmospheric, honest and deeply rooted in the environment — a portrait of tradition, patience and life by the sea.
Upon completion of the above film, we also produced a film for the local hotel and a short commercial for the whisky collection in the restaurang. (Both below).
